Christmas Cactus

Four degrees today and cloudy. And the wind has dropped out. A definite improvement. If there’s one thing you can count on here in my home town, it’s wind. And with that in mind, I put together these little guys today. I found the pattern somewhere last year. Not sure where – probably Pinterest. Of the thousands – yes thousands – of ‘ideas’ I’ve saved, I’ve probably followed up on less than a dozen. Shameful secret: Pinterest addict! Anyway, as part of my continuing effort to decrease my stash of fabric and scrap supplies, these windswept snowmen were born. I’ll finish them off tomorrow.

As for my nod to Christmas, today I moved my Christmas cactus from the porch to the sideboard and did a little research on why it looks a little droopy. Apparently it needs repotting but shouldn’t do that until after it blooms. This particular cactus is only a few years old but the slip came from one of Mom’s. Very old. Twice-loved.
